The Kidde 0230UK is easy to install, and the backlit digital display shows carbon monoxide levels in parts per million, updating every 15 seconds. When the Kidde 0230UK is operating, if hazardous carbon monoxide levels are not present its LED will flash green every 30 seconds. In a carbon monoxide emergency, the red LED pulses, and an 85 decibel horn sounds at specific intervals until the carbon monoxide threat is eliminated. The unit is powered by AA batteries that come included in the kit. This model also comes complete with an alarm function that informs you when the batteries are running low and need changing. The Kidde 0230UK is able to provide continuous monitoring of carbon monoxide levels, even during power outages--it runs on batteries, not a mains power supply. For peace of mind, a test/reset button allows you to test that alarm is functioning correctly, plus a peak-level memory keeps track of the maximum carbon monoxide levels detected between resets. The 0230UK is covered with a five-year manufacturer's warranty and replacement is recommended after seven years.
